"Training in Godliness, Maturing in Christ"
Like the index of any good book will clearly direct you to where you can find something useful; so INDEX seeks to direct our students and young workers towards Christ in their lives so that they increasingly grow up with into a mature Christ-centred person, who is ready and equipped for His work in the world.
"Training in Godliness, Maturing in Christ" is accomplished by the GOSPEL and happens best in COMMUNITY. Everything we do at Index is therefore about the Gospel and developing a Community together.
As a Community that loves and wants to learn more about the Gospel and God we...
- Share meals together on Sunday nights
- Serve together practically at Index in setting up/tidying up/cooking/using our gifts
- Serve together in the wider church
- Worship and pray together when we meet together, and share prayer points for our weeks
- Share life together outside of Sundays by meeting up for accountability and one-to-one discipleship, often reading a book together or looking at the Scriptures together to apply them to our lives
- Having fun and adventures together for the joy of it
- Entertain and show hospitality to each other and others, and receive hospitality from families in the church
- Go on an annual weekend retreat of great Bible teaching and great fun somewhere in Scotland
- Indeed, even when we are learning on a Sunday night we do it interactively and largely through group discussions at our tables because we learn best often when we learn and talk together
